ISABC 2025 Professional Development Day
ISABC Professional Development Day 2025 — February 14, 2025
About the Conference
The ISABC is proud to announce our upcoming 2025 Professional Development Day, “EmpowerEd: Framing the Future of Education” This one-day, in-person event is set to take place on February 14th, 2025, across several satellite locations, bringing together educators from all corners of the Independent Schools Association of British Columbia.
In response to valuable feedback from last year, we’re excited to adopt a satellite format for this year’s conference, moving away from a fully virtual event. This change allows for more localized, in-person interactions while maintaining the collaborative spirit that defines the ISABC community.
This year’s conference is designed to foster deep connections among our educators, focusing on the key areas of Wellness, Indigenous Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. The theme “EmpowerEd” underscores our commitment to empowering educators with the tools, knowledge, and collaborative opportunities necessary to navigate and shape the future of education.
Conference Objectives:
1. Encourage Networking and Collaboration: Our satellite format allows for a more personalized experience, enabling teachers to engage with peers in person across ISABC schools, sharing expertise, innovations, and best practices.
2. Focus on Strategic Pro-D Goals: Each satellite location will concentrate on a specific area of professional development, tailored to meet the needs and goals of participating schools, while providing a cohesive ISABC experience.
3. Bring in Expertise: We are excited to host a range of facilitators and experts who will lead discussions and workshops, offering insights into the latest trends and practices in education.
4. Rationalize and Centralize Professional Development: By bringing Pro-D opportunities closer to schools, we aim to reduce travel time and costs, making professional growth more accessible for all ISABC educators.
