St. Michaels University School’s External Programs Department offers an array of educational enrichment programs for all students. During holiday periods (winter, spring, summer breaks), the programs provide a learning experience for students aged 5-16 that emphasize skill development, cooperation, participation, and fun.
The Position:
The Rising Leaders Camp is designed to nurture young leaders through engaging and challenging activities that build self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. The Leadership Program Facilitator plays a vital role in delivering high-quality programs that inspire and empower campers, creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment. This role guides campers through activities, facilitates group discussions, and ensures their well-being and safety, helping them develop essential skills and confidence.
Dates of Work:
July 7 to August 1, 2025
Orientation date: June 25, 2025
Hours of work: 8:30 – 4:00 pm
Responsibilities include:
Facilitate structured activities, team-building exercises, and workshops to develop leadership, communication skills and personal growth.
Lead group discussions and reflection sessions to help campers internalize leadership concepts.
Adapt activities to meet the needs of various language abilities and individual learning styles.
Supervise and mentor campers, ensuring a positive and safe experience.
Collaborate with other staff to create a cohesive camp experience and attend meetings for continuous improvement.
Report any incidents or feedback to camp leadership.
The successful candidate will have the following skills, background and interest:
Completed or enrolled in relevant post-secondary education program such as Leadership and Management, Communications, Business, or related field.
At least two years of experience working with youth, aged 13-17 from different cultural backgrounds.
Understand the developmental and emotional needs of adolescents.
Background in education, psychology, leadership, or youth development.
Ability to work cooperatively and develop positive working relationships with international students and colleagues.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Pay Range:
Hourly pay range: $25.68 – $30.21
Criminal Record Check:
Must pass and maintain a clear Solicitor General criminal record check for the purpose of working with children.
