Crofton House School is seeking an experienced learning resource teacher. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Responsibilities:
- Establish a day-to-day connection and belonging in the Junior School community
- Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals that embrace school values of courage, creativity, and citizenship
- Create a positive and supportive culture for learning that celebrates and supports diverse learning profiles
- Work collaboratively with learning resource teachers to provide learning support to Junior School students through an integrated approach
- Support learning in the classroom with the facilitation of both small group and individual instruction and support
- Interpret psycho-educational assessments
- Create, implement, and review individual education plans and school based support plans
- Act as case manager and provide personalized instruction and learning support for individual students
- Document evidence of learning as a means to determine student growth and inform next steps
- Collaborate with teachers to assist in their understanding and ability to support students with learning needs in their classes
- Facilitate a team-based approach with teachers, parents, and paraprofessionals
- Lead grade-specific Student of Consideration meetings
- Maintain documentation and records for individual students, ensuring confidentiality and alignment with Ministry of Education requirements
- Participate in a dynamic professional development network
- Integrate meaningful technology into student learning
- Participate in co-curricular activities and clubs, support supervision of students during non-instruction time and participate in school wide events
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
- B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Degree or diploma in Special Education an asset
- An understanding of the BC Ministry of Education Special Education policies and procedures
- Previous experience teaching in a learning resource capacity at an elementary level
- Experience creating and implementing IEPs
- Understanding of how to support diverse learning styles of girls at an elementary level
- Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail
- Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
Classes begin in September 2025 following teacher orientation in late August 2025.
Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and support for professional, educational and leadership development. Compensation: $65,869 – $116,734 depending on experience and education level.
