FRENCH TEACHER – Senior School 2025-26 School Year
Part Time/Full Time – 0.6-1.00 FTE
Brockton School is seeking a Senior School French teacher. The French teacher will primarily be responsible for teaching French as a second language at the Middle Years Level (MYP – grades 6-10). They will work collaboratively with members of the Middle Years Program (MYP), Diploma Program (DP), Career Program (CP), other elements of the Senior School team, the Languages Department Chair, and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team, this teacher will report to the Divisional Directors and collaborate closely with International Baccalaureate (IB) program coordinators.
Requirements:
- BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) or alternative as supported by the BC Teachers Regulation Branch.
- Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community.
- Post-secondary degree in an area of Languages with specific experience in French.
Ideal characteristics:
- Experience in bringing a diversity of voices and worldviews to classroom material and learning experiences, including Indigenous, local, and global perspectives.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to build Unit plans
- Experience with teaching French through the communicative approach
- 3-5 Years of successful Experience teaching French to non-French speaking students at the middle school level
- Native-like command of the French language
- Experience teaching IB MYP French as a Second Language (FSL)
- Legal standing to work in Canada
