Brentwood College School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Music to lead our thriving music program and join our vibrant Arts Department. In this multifaceted role, you will oversee program leadership and administration, provide instruction and performance direction, manage events and festivals, and foster an engaging and collaborative environment for both students and faculty.

Working Conditions:
- Arts classes are conducted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm
- Position requires a high degree of self-direction and initiative in setting work priorities
- Large modern boarding school environment
- Criminal Record Check clearance is a condition of initial and ongoing employment.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Your Qualifications and Experience:
- Accredited to teach or be immediately eligible to be certified to teach in British Columbia preferred
- More than 5 years’ experience as a fine arts educator (institutional, community-based, or private), ideally teaching music classes in a high school environment
- Familiarity with the Grade 8-12 BC Arts Curriculum is preferred
Notes:
- This position works beyond the ‘class in-session’ time, and the workday hours will be dependent on the class and operations needs
- Some workweeks will require long hours, while others have low demands

The position is .77 FTE with the opportunity to be assigned a co-curricular sport for additional compensation - Compensation is based on having a BC Teaching Certificate or an Independent School Teaching Certificate. $69,571.72 – $85,180.04 + an annual increase effective July 1, 2025 (an uncertified teacher will be paid less until they become certified)
