Join our team as a School Store/External Events Assistant!

This vital role supports the smooth operation of our school store and external programming while fostering positive relationships with families, students, staff, and event clients. We are seeking a motivated individual who will generally work 35 – 40 hours per week. While school is in session, the school store may be the priority and during school breaks, external events are conducted. You will have a strong customer service background and excellent time management skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide exceptional customer service in the school store, assisting with uniforms and supplies while managing store operations
  • Support external events by preparing facilities, coordinating staff, and ensuring a positive guest experience
  • Maintain effective communication with various departments to ensure successful event execution
  • Oversee daily cash management and ensure accurate merchandise replenishment and display
  • Work in the store that is generally open 6 days per week while school is in session and support external events while school is not in session.
  • External events generally include weekends and evenings in the summer months

What We’re Looking For

  • At least two years of retail experience, with a background in camps/recreation considered an asset
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with a Serving It Right certificate
  • Flexibility in availability, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service
  • Comfort with technology, particularly Google and Microsoft Office applications like Excel and Google Docs

Education / Experience:

  • At least two years of related retail experience (ie: keyholder, assistant manager) or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Experience in camps/recreation is an asset
  • Serving It Right certificate required; FoodSafe certification is an asset

  • Criminal Record Check clearance, and
  • Eligibility to work in Canada are required
  • $25.90/hr
