Position: Head of Global Leadership
Position Reports to: Head of School
Works Closely With: Principal, Senior School; Principal, Junior School; Director of Admissions; Chief Financial Officer; Department Heads
Teams & Committees: Management Team; Leadership Team; Senior School Leadership Team; Junior School Leadership Team
Compensation: This is a Senior level position that includes a teaching component to be determined. The position may require evening and weekend commitments. Salary Range $105,000 – $115,000

Position Overview:

Aspengrove is entering its 3rd decade as an independent school and has evolved the mission of the school to “develop Global Leaders.” This position will support the mission of the school by expanding and establishing programs that will add vitality, diversity, and understanding to the Aspengrove community.

The Head of International Programs is a member of the Leadership Team, responsible for developing and delivering a Global Leadership Program supporting the mission of “developing Global Leaders.”  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establishing a Global Leadership Program for Grades 8-10
    • A flagship program for Aspengrove is the creation of a Global Leadership Program, designed for Grades 8-10. The program will focus on 4 key elements: extended curriculum focused on leadership and global competencies; a hosting of international groups of students; organizing international groups of students; and coordinating individual school exchanges.
  • Extending Leadership lessons to students in Grades 6 and 7
  • Developing a Leadership curriculum that is implemented from Grade Three through Twelve
  • Supporting the International Student Program
    • Aspengrove is in its first year establishing a Home Boarding program for international and out of region students. The Head of Global Leadership will support International Students in their transition and success at Aspengrove

Required Knowledge and Skills

The qualities of the successful candidate include:

  • Clear vision and understanding of Exchange Programs and student engagement
  • A self-starter and motivated professional
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a timely manner
  • Can explore new ideas and opportunities
  • Strong organizer and time management skills to meet diverse deadlines and manage a large portfolio
  • Proven track record in managing performance, accountability and delivering results
  • Has the desire to create a world-class International Programs program

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education
  • Proven track record of leading student programs
  • Teaching certificate for British Columbia

Criminal Record Check

Must pass and maintain a clear criminal record check for the purposes of working with children
