Qualifications:

• Valid ECE certificate (Please provide a copy of your certificate with your application)
• Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Two Practicum or Childcare Workplace Written References
• Must be a current Canadian resident, legally entitled to work in Canada
  Up-to-date record of immunizations

Additions—Not required:

• Bachelors’ degree in related field
• IB training or experience
• Experience with Google, Seesaw and MySchool technology
• Food Safe Certificate

• Confidentiality of all information related to the Centre, staff, children and their families
• Contribute to the on-going operation of the Centre
• Knowledge of Licensing regulations; ensuring the Centre meets all requirements on a daily basis
• Be reliable and punctual
• Be physically capable (able to sit on the floor, move up and down with ease, bend and stoop to meet children’s eye level)
• Have an understanding that working hours may occasionally require extending beyond the scheduled 8hr shift (i.e. staff meetings, Early Learning Fair) 
• Individualized care, built on positive relationships between educators and children
• Guidance and support of children that encourages positive self-esteem, independence, and good problem-solving skills 
• Commitment to providing students access to nature with ample time spent outdoors
• Positive relationships with parents and/or guardians
• Neat, organized and clean environment in all activity and program areas
• Commitment to a positive, fun and engaged work environment with colleagues

 Role specific expectations

• Plan and implement Winter, Spring and Summer programming
• Plan and implement JK PE activities
• Contribute to JK report cards
• Document JK student’s learning and development
• Participate in Early Years events outside of working hours (i.e. Early Learning Fair/Staff Meetings)
