Qualifications:
- Valid ECE certificate (Please provide a copy of your certificate with your application)
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Two Practicum or Childcare Workplace Written References
- Must be a current Canadian resident, legally entitled to work in Canada
Up-to-date record of immunizations
Additions—Not required:
- Bachelors’ degree in related field
- IB training or experience
- Experience with Google, Seesaw and MySchool technology
- Food Safe Certificate

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Confidentiality of all information related to the Centre, staff, children and their families
- Contribute to the on-going operation of the Centre
- Knowledge of Licensing regulations; ensuring the Centre meets all requirements on a daily basis
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be physically capable (able to sit on the floor, move up and down with ease, bend and stoop to meet children’s eye level)
- Have an understanding that working hours may occasionally require extending beyond the scheduled 8hr shift (i.e. staff meetings, Early Learning Fair)
- Individualized care, built on positive relationships between educators and children
- Guidance and support of children that encourages positive self-esteem, independence, and good problem-solving skills
- Commitment to providing students access to nature with ample time spent outdoors
- Positive relationships with parents and/or guardians
- Neat, organized and clean environment in all activity and program areas
- Commitment to a positive, fun and engaged work environment with colleagues
Role specific expectations
- Plan and implement Winter, Spring and Summer programming
- Plan and implement JK PE activities
- Contribute to JK report cards
- Document JK student’s learning and development
- Participate in Early Years events outside of working hours (i.e. Early Learning Fair/Staff Meetings)
