We have an opportunity on our Advancement team as an Events & Alumni Officer (position profile can be found here).  This role will commence on August 18, 2025.

Aberdeen Hall provides

Competitive Compensation for permanent roles at an annual salary of $60,000 to $80,000, inclusive of vacation pay and commensurate with years of experience

Position Summary

As a member of the Advancement Team, the Alumni and Events Officer will participate in developing the spirit of philanthropy and community at Aberdeen Hall. 

They are responsible for nurturing a vibrant alumni and community network and coordinating engaging events. This role involves designing and executing strategic communications to keep our community informed and connected through personalized newsletters, social media outreach, and targeted messaging. The officer will also be conceptualizing, planning, and executing a variety of events—from small reunions and networking sessions to larger fundraising initiatives—that support the school’s mission and foster community engagement.

In addition to managing alumni relations, the officer oversees all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and budget management. By collaborating closely with school leadership, the development team, and external partners, the Alumni and Events Officer ensures that each initiative not only enhances participation but also contributes to the school’s overall development goals and long-term legacy.

Success Factors

Bachelor’s or experience in an event or fundraising environment 
Understanding of donor stewardship
Proficiency in fundraising and/or CRM software an asset
Computer skills: Google docs, sheets, slides,and Gmail 
Experience in an independent school setting is an asset
