We have an opportunity for a Director of Academics & Innovative Programming starting September 2025 in our Senior and Junior School from Kindergarten to grade 12. (position profile can be found here).

Position Summary
The Director of Academics & Innovative Programming provides leadership and oversight to maintain appropriate academic rigor and integrity throughout the school while mentoring teachers, supporting students’ scholastic progress and success, and serving as a resource to all stakeholders. The Director of Academics & Innovative Programming will support all aspects of academic programming, assuring vertical, horizontal, and cross-discipline alignment, and will work with Teachers, Learning Strategists, and Divisional Leaders to develop exceptional student experiences, through the application of current best practices in teaching and learning. 

Success Factors

– Bachelor of Education and a BC Teacher’s Certification (or equivalent).
Master’s Degree in Education (Curriculum Development or Inclusive Education preferred).
– 10+ years of teaching experience in a K-12 classroom, including 5+ years in school-based leadership and experience supporting diverse learners.
– Expertise in curriculum design, student assessment, and instructional best practices.
– Strong leadership and faculty mentorship skills, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth.
– Excellent administrative skills, including scheduling, timetabling, and event coordination.
– Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to engage effectively with students, faculty, and parents.
– Experience in an Independent School (preferred).
– Passion for student well-being, social-emotional learning, and academic success.
– Proactive, innovative, and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
– Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contribute to a positive working atmosphere across the School community
