We invite applications for a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) , Alumni Relations Coordinator . This position will commence May 20, 2025, and will end on or before December 23, 2026.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
ALUMNI RELATIONS COORDINATOR (Temporary, Full Time – Maternity Leave)
Alumni Relations Coordinator will organize, and coordinate alumni programs, events, and initiatives designed to enhance and strengthen the relationship between Southridge and its 1500+ alumni. In addition, the Alumni Relations Coordinator will work with the Advancement team in support of the school’s fundraising and community relations events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Director of Advancement and the Southridge School Alumni Association to implement an annual alumni relations plan that connects to the school’s overall strategic plan.
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates all alumni events, including class reunions, alumni barbeque, an annual holiday event, networking events, etc.
- Supports the Alumni Executive Board of the Alumni Association by distributing materials, scheduling meetings, recording, and distributing meeting minutes, and providing other administrative support.
- Creates and implements a strategic alumni social media strategy, regularly updating Alumni social media channels with relevant and interesting content.
- Leads the strategy, content development, and creation of the alumni e-newsletter (The Ridge Report).
- Supports the Advancement department’s communications strategy for events and activities, collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Captures alumni ‘stories’ for the purposes of Southridge web pages, newsletters, Spirit magazine, videos, and other Southridge communications and marketing channels.
- Establishes and builds relationships with alumni; maintains regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email distributions, alumni web pages, and print publications.
- Establishes and builds relationships with current faculty and staff, maintaining an awareness of all school programs and events to identify and/or create opportunities to connect current students and faculty with alumni.
- Works with the Director of Advancement in developing and implementing an alumni fundraising strategy.
- Works with the Post-Secondary Guidance & Career Education Department to coordinate the Alumni Mentorship Program, Career Day speakers and other initiatives.
- Ensures accurate and complete alumni database records; captures contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, correspondence, website, social media, postal returns, etc.
- Provides hands-on support for the events, activities, and programs of the Advancement team and overall school community as needed.
- Collaborates with and supports the Events Manager to plan and conduct signature fundraising events, including an annual gala, golf tournament and country fair.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, i.e. constituent relations, advancement, volunteer relations, or event planning
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with anyone
- A strong and creative writer and communicator
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail

The salary range for this position is from $65,000 to $75,000. To ensure the safety and well-being of our community, preferred candidates will need to complete a satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
