We have an opportunity for a Middle School Vice Principal in September 2025 in our Senior School grades 6 to 12 (position profile can be found here).

Position Summary

The Middle School Vice Principal is integral to shaping and overseeing the Middle School program. This individual will work closely with the Principal to ensure that the curriculum, student support systems, and school culture align with Aberdeen Hall’s mission and strategic vision. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who cultivates collaboration, fosters a strong sense of belonging, and enhances the student experience.

This position encompasses instructional leadership, pastoral care, faculty mentorship, and administrative management. Additionally, the Vice Principal will be actively involved in student life, promoting participation in extracurricular activities and supporting student leadership initiatives.

Success Factors

– B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or equivalent
– Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s degree (an asset)  in Education or a related field.
– Computer Skills: Google Classroom, docs, sheets, slides and Gmail
– Known to model the highest standards of professional practice and interactions with all stakeholders
– Ability to understand the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy in building trust and contribute to a positive working atmosphere across the School community
– Known to communicate, negotiate, collaborate and build partnerships effectively
– Leadership experience in a middle school or equivalent educational setting.
– Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogy, and student development.
– Demonstrated ability to support and mentor faculty in best instructional practices.
– Experience managing student behavior, pastoral care, and school culture initiatives.
– Strong administrative skills, including scheduling, timetabling, and event coordination.
– Familiarity with independent school environments is an asset.
