
The purpose of the Independent Schools Association of British Columbia is expressed in the Mission Statement. This statement is a central aspect of the ISABC Strategic Plan developed in May 2008 and revised in January 2010.

OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
ISABC Community
Continue to develop a distinctive voice/presence within the Federation of Independent Schools Association.
Establish a distinct ISABC presence/voice with the Ministry of Education.
Define the parameters in which ISABC relates to any national organization of independent schools.
Attracting and supporting schools
Articulate and act upon membership involvement.
Define and articulate standards of institutional excellence.
Recruit new member schools through both outreach and marketing.
Active dynamic community supporting institutional excellence
Identify opportunities for building the ISABC community among member schools and prioritize for action (e.g. arts, athletics, curriculum, Pro-D, facilities, information technology, governance, admissions, marketing etc.)
Continue to develop, enhance and implement existing initiatives and programmes (IT, Pro-D, Business and Risk Management etc.)
Identify and prioritize a minimum of 2-3 initiatives and begin implementation.
ISABC office
Define the scope of operations of the central office including resourcing, and the role of the Executive Director.
Over the next 3-5 years develop the long-term plan for the Executive Office. Define resourcing requirements.
