On Monday, May 16, grade 7 classes from West Point Grey Academy met their York House peers at Locarno Park to share their math and social studies crosscurricular projects. As part of an ISABC Action Research Project, teachers from WPGA and York House worked together to create this unique learning experience, for which students created their own essential questions that reflected on how math could be used to compare their areas of interest in two ancient societies. Students then selected the math concepts they would need to investigate their query. The session finished with a cookie and juice celebration.

We thank WPGA and York House students for contributing to this pilot project, as their participation, creativity and feedback helps inform our data. It was an enriching experience for all involved and we look forward to more opportunities to collaborate as ISABC schools.
