For the fourth consecutive time Crofton House Junior School, Track and Field team were the ISEA Champions at the ISEA Track and Field Championships held at the South Surrey Athletics Park on May 24. The school has a high participation of 125 girls on the team.

“Athletics challenges girls to strive for more, to work through adversity, and to be there for their teammates.  Winning is great, but it is the process that builds grit and determination.  Character traits developed by participating in sport will be with these athletes for life!” says Junior School athletics coordinator Tricia Cohee.

The coaches and teacher sponsors' Nancy Moore, Kaye Wong, Quinn Cumming, Anne Walters, Lindsay Smid, Jenna McArthur and Tricia Cohee kept the girls inspired and focused on the day.

The entire junior school team deserves accolades and credit for their spirit, enthusiasm, and commitment. The school is especially proud of athletes Sienna G., grade 4, winning two gold, and one silver, and Anna K., grade 4 who earned three silver placements at their very first ISEA.  Josie H, grade 6, achieved a new personal best in the high jump and won gold. Emily F., and Gigi R., from grade 5 both executed new personal bests in the shot put event and won silver and gold. Sophia C., grade 6, demonstrated courage and teamwork when she stepped in at the last minute to fill a spot in the 1200m run and won her division!

Most importantly the Falcons demonstrated superb teamwork in the relay team races. Grades 4 to 7 brought home, two bronze, three silver, and seven gold placements.
