Gr. 4 & 5 ISABC Public Speaking Event Confirmed Itinerary
Monday, April 25, 2016 ~ 10:30am ­ 1:45pm

10:30am ­-10:45am

Registration in the Lobby
● participants and judges sign in and receive room placements and nametags
● Mingle in gym, coffee and tea
● **Aspengrove may arrive late due to ferry schedule**

10:45am ­- 11:00am

Judges Debrief & Student Welcome
Judges:
● Judges meet in room 362 (3rd Floor, Sr. School)
● Judging rubrics are attached, criteria and processes will be debriefed
● **Aspengrove exempt from judging**
Students:
● grade 4 and 5 students and any parents/guests/lead teachers meet in the Gunn Gymnasium for welcome
● students will be divided into groups of 6­7 to present their speeches
● each group will be assigned one St. John’s Sr. Student who will stay with them from the welcoming meeting until the awards ceremony

11:00am ­- 11:05am Transition time

11:05am ­- 11:45am

Round 1 ­ Speeches
● students will present their speeches in a room with their assigned group & 3 judges

11:45am ­- 12:15pm

Lunch Provided & Break
Gunn Gymnasium
● participants, judges and lead teachers enjoy lunch in the Gunn Gymnasium (room for parents to eat lunch in Gunn Gymnasium too, bring from home or many restaurants around campus)
● coffee & tea for parents ­ lobby
 
Transition Time
12:15pm ­- 12:20pm

12:20pm ­- 1:00pm

Round 2 ­ Speeches
● students will present their speeches in a room with their assigned group & 3 new judges

1:00pm ­- 1:20pm

Student Social
Gunn Gymnasium
● light snacks will be provided for students, judges and lead teachers in the Gunn Gymnasium
● coffee & tea for Parents ­ lobby
● fun activities for students

1:20pm ­- 1:45pm

Awards & Winning Speeches Presentation
Gunn Gymnasium
● all participating students will be provided with a certificate and loot bag
● students receiving 1st, 2nd & 3rd place will receive a medallion and a trophy for the school with the highest overall points
● the 1st place speakers for grade 4 and 5 will be encouraged to perform their speeches
● Closing by St. John’s School
