Ian Kennedy, Director of Instructional Growth at Collingwood School, West Vancouver, will be facilitating a conversation on Supervision FOR Learning. Ian's presentation style will be informed, but informal. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences in a facilitated conversation built on a foundation of current research and best practice. This is an opportunity to discuss what is working in our schools and perhaps share what is not working. In this mutually supportive and engaging session the group will gain insights into aspects of school culture that support learning and need developing in our schools.
This session will examine the typologies of great schools and effective leadership. We will discuss and investigate how Supervision For Learning is a critical component of school improvement and learning. We will investigate, share and reflect on current best practice and new thinking about the connection between leadership, learning and student achievement.
Ian has presented at numerous workshops for teachers, parents and administrators. Earlier in the year Ian's presentation on Supervision FOR Learning was very well received by Principals and Vice Principals in West Vancouver School District and Ian has been invited to facilitate the same workshop in Campbell River in April.
This session is ideally suited to Heads of School, Senior Administrators and Department Heads involved in Supervision FOR Learning. It is relevant across the entire K to 12 spectrum.
All ISABC administrators at ISLAND SCHOOLS are warmly invited to join Ian and their colleagues at Brentwood for the session and are asked to sign up using the sign up function at the top of this posting.
In order to accommodate interest from ISABC schools on the Mainland Ian Kennedy will be offering a second session on the Mainland this coming May. Stay tuned!
