Senior School Teacher Associate

St. John’s Senior School is seeking an outstanding newly graduated teacher who will be licensed by the Teacher Regulation Branch as of September 2018. Reporting to the Principal of the Senior School, the successful candidate will be directly involved in the academic programmes of the Senior School, including:
• assisting experienced teachers in classrooms from Grade 6 to 12, covering classes and other support roles related to teaching and learning;
• providing support for MYP and DP Assistant Principals and Heads of Departments;
• after school care – from 3:30 to 5:30. This is paid separately on an hourly basis.
Note: The Associate Teacher does not complete tasks which teachers are contracted to do; planning, marking, writing reports, class set-up, and the like.
In addition to the items mentioned above, ideal candidates must be committed to ongoing professional growth, and be willing to work in a collaborative professional community. Experience in an independent school environment and familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Programmes would be considered assets.
