Meadowridge School is looking for a Systems Administrator.  The systems administrator is responsible for planning, developing, installation, configuration and maintenance of corporate hardware, software and related infrastructure.  This includes the creation of all plans for ensuring functionality, data consistency, security and usability of systems aligned with Meadowridge’s priorities and enabling Meadowridge employees to do their work effectively.  The System Manager is responsible for diagnosing, and resolving performance issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.  He or she will also be accountable for planning updates and maintenance of hardware and software resources to mitigate limitations and combat obsolesce.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Plan a Microsoft network while balancing access,  security and reliability for students, faculty and board members and guests
  • Ability to design and manage a Microsoft Exchange 2010 Enterprise environment
  • Ability to design and manage a Microsoft SharePoint 2010 environment
  • Ability to design and manage a Microsoft Forefront 2010 installation
  • Research and recommend improvements to the organizations hardware, software and infrastructure.
  • Test and install security patches, ensuring computers are compliant
  • Plan and deploy a backup strategy, regularly test the backup strategy is working
  • Analyze event logs and address issues that arise
  • Manage user accounts, security groups and distribution groups, creating and updating as necessary
  • Troubleshoot server and workstation and laptop errors.
  • Recommend hardware solution that are adequately sized and configured; conduct capacity planning scenarios to meet future needs.
  • Design and implement a Group Policy infrastructure
  • Provide support for development processes by participating in data modeling sessions and advising about database design or use of objects.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering or computer engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of direct work experience in Systems Administration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system design and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of system design, installation, backup and recovery, storage management, methodologies, process and tools
  • Ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation
  • System administration certification in Microsoft
  • Able to stay abreast of current and future technologies and trends
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to make proactive changes
  • Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback from superiors
  • Effective deadline management and project management skills
