Learning Support Coordinator, Island Pacific School
Hours:  20-25 hours per week, September-June (excluding school holidays)
Salary:  $25,000 – $28,500, dependent on hours, abilities and qualifications
Start Date:  Mon, Aug 31, 2015
Reports To:  Head of School
IPS is seeking a Learning Support Coordinator to implement an effective learning support program at Island Pacific School. Duties will include:

  • working collaboratively with teachers and other Learning Assistance personnel to create and sustain an effective learning support program
  • working directly with assigned students to offer relevant and effective learning support
  • administering entrance assessments and making recommendations for program support
  • communicating effectively with parents to provide learning support progress updates

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a teaching designation with special training and qualifications in learning assistance
  • significant experience offering learning assistance in a variety of school settings
  • expertise in the integration and use of ICT as a teaching and learning tool
  • the ability to administer Woodcock-Johnson assessment tests (or a reasonable facsimile)
  • the ability to plan and structure individualized programs to meet the learning needs of each student
  • the ability to develop IEP’s and properly report on student progress
  • the ability to establish effective working relationships with students, teachers and parents
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
