REPOSTING: Executive Director of the Independent Schools Association of BC (ISABC)

Role description:
Entering a new phase of evolution, the Independent Schools Association of British Columbia (ISABC) is seeking an Executive Director to assume the role of catalyst for developing the existing leadership in our schools. This is a significant leadership role in the Independent School Sector in British Columbia for a person who can demonstrate a passion for leading in innovation and best practice.
The ED supports and enhances the work of all aspects of leadership in ISABC schools. Reporting to the ISABC Board, the primary responsibility of the Executive Director is to engage ISABC administrators and teachers in collaborative professional activity that enables the ISABC to achieve the goals embedded in the Association’s Strategic Plan.
Qualities considered desirable include:
• An energetic self-starter, with demonstrated ability to work both alone and as part of a team
• Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within the independent school system
• An educational background
• A proven ability to design and work collaboratively within a variety of structures to achieve outcomes
• An ability to create coherence from complex and dynamic factors and attract the energies and commitment of stakeholders in taking action
• Demonstrated strength in both organizational and communication skills
