IT Programmer/Analyst
Permanent, full-time position.
A full-time, permanent role for an experienced self-starter to program large enterprise applications.
Applying your strong combination of technical troubleshooting and interpersonal skills, you will be responsible for maintenance and new development of our Student Data System (SDS) which runs almost every aspect of the school. Ours is a small, close-knit team of IT professionals, so independent work and initiative is required. You will provide all aspects of the software cycle for an in-house, comprehensive student records system, so any experience you have working in a K-12 educational environment would be beneficial. Duties include gathering user criteria, design, programming, beta cycle, and finally, implementation. A self starter, you are always on the look-out for ways to help our user base.
For you to be successful in this IT Programmer/Analyst position, your skills must include:
Object Oriented Computer programming (PHP preferred)
Software requirement collection and business analyst skills
Experience writing SQL queries for a relational database
Working with code repositories for beta and production versions
Strong interpersonal skills
Outstanding troubleshooting abilities
Ideally, you would also have:
Software testing experience
Technical writing experience
A working knowledge of the linux environment (creating/editing files, basic Bash script writing, command line navigation)
Experience writing web applications
Knowledge of standard change management procedures
Bonus points if you can impress us with your experience in:
Programming large enterprise applications
Linux OS administration for any backend work (Ubuntu preferred)
Criminal Record Check
The successful candidate must pass and maintain a clear criminal record check for the purposes of working with children.
