Queen Margaret's School is looking for a full time Associate Director, International Enrollment. The Associate Director, International Enrollment is responsible for the recruitment and retention for boarding students and the development of emerging markets, ensuring targets are achieved as set out in the school’s Strategic Enrollment and Strategic Financial Plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a personal connection with the QMS community and develop an awareness and understanding of its unique culture by actively participating in events, programs and activities
  • In support of the School’s Strategic Enrollment and Strategic Financial Plans, undertake recruitment activities to achieve capacity enrollment of qualified students and a wait-list of qualified boarding students (international market), including but not limited to:
  • Systematic and efficient handling of application and communication with prospective students and their parents
  • International travel to represent the school, develop relationships with educational consultants, agents, and sister schools, and cultivate suitable candidates
  • Conduct tours of the campus (as required for international families)
  • Interview candidates and their parents
  • Make recommendations for application assessments (in consultation with the School Principals and coordinated by the Admissions Office Manager)
  • Secure necessary student credentials
  • Communicate final decisions to appropriate individuals
  • Provide ongoing support as required for international students and families (current and incoming)
  • Identify, promote and develop strong working relationships and create networking opportunities with outside institutions or groups that could contribute to attracting qualified students
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with recruitment partners in support of the identification of prospective students and emerging markets for international student enrollment efforts
  • Collaborate and contribute to the analysis of market trends, marketing initiatives, and recruitment activities in support of data analysis and governance oversight
  • Cultivate relationships with international families, agents, and recruitment partners in support of the re-enrollment of current domestic market students for the succeeding year with constant monitoring of attrition and retention
  • Contribute to the development and publication of appropriate marketing materials and initiatives that interpret the school to prospective students ensuring consistency of message and design, tailored to the international market
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
 
The following are requirements for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience and a track record of student recruitment in international market
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Experience contributing to and working within timelines and budgets
  • Business or educational travel experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications; training for other software programs will be provided

Preference will be given to candidates who also have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an independent school environment
  • Familiarity with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum
  • Five or more years of experience in admissions, international business, or related fields
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in a language other than English

 
Working Conditions:

  • Extensive international travel required
  • Generally works in an office environment
  • Some weekend and evenings work required during recruitment campaigns and events
  • Scheduling and completion of project work outside of regular office hours may be required
  • Attendance at school and community events outside of the regular school day may be required
  • Salary is inclusive of all hours worked
