Island Pacific School is a unique grade 6-9 micro school on Bowen Island that is changing the way we think about middle school education. Now in its 21st year of operation, the school has earned a reputation for helping young students express the very best of who they are. Not content to sit on our laurels, we now want to do even more -- to be a leader in reconfiguring middle school education to best develop and encourage the tremendous potential of young people. We are looking for a dedicated Advancement Professional who will lead the charge, understands what “a culture of philanthropy” means and knows what it takes to help us follow through on these aspirations.
Title:   Advancement and Alumni Engagement Lead
Hours:   Part-Time Contract Position at 6.0 hrs\day over 2.5 days\week
Salary:  $40\hr (subject to experience and qualifications)
Start Date:   Mid May, 2016
Term:    May to Dec 16, 2016 (with provision to continue thereafter)

Reports to: Head of School, Dr. Ted Spear
The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor degree from an accredited university
  • Possessing or working towards a fundraising designation (CFRE, BCIT Diploma or other) is an asset
  • Membership in AFP [Association of Fundraising Professionals] is an asset
  • 2-5 years working experience in the field of Advancement, preferably with an educational institution or similar non-profit organization 
  • A proven track record of accomplishment in fundraising and program development
  • Excellent knowledge of legislation affecting fundraising
  • Experience with one or more CRM donor database programs
  • An ability to work well with others, and a good sense of humour
